Break Free

Having gone through two (2) major natural disasters, it is easy to imagine the level of fear that the trauma has presented itself. I am sure that many of you, in having experienced unrest in one way or another, are aware of the anxieties, fears and even panic attacks that occur because of these traumatic experiences. We however, who are the Lord’s, have the ability to make the decision to break free from this bondage through the power of declaration.

Psalm 121 brings much comfort and assurance. It speaks to the keeping power of God and assures us of safety in a world that is becoming increasingly violent. We can have peace because of WHOSE we are!

Psalm 121

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

The word “help” in verse 1 and 2, stems from a Greek word which means to give or provide what is necessary to accomplish a task or satisfy a need; to contribute strength or means; render assistance; to make something less severe or more pleasant and easier to deal with. The Lord is our help! He gives us the ability to go through tough times and eases the pain while we do. He watches over us to preserve us, He shelters us! His protection is both for the day and the night.

No matter the cause of unrest, trauma and unpleasant circumstances, there is safety, security and help in Christ. You do not have to be made to be dysfunctional or unproductive as a result of what you have been through. You have the power in you to break the power of fear, trauma and anxiety through your declaration.

Let us declare:

Today, I have made the decision to BREAK FREE and BREAK OUT of fear. I have decided that I am no longer subject to fear, no longer subject to bondage because of fear. My mind will NO LONGER be the incubator for fearful thoughts and those that perpetrate fear. This day I uproot fear, I root out paranoia, trauma, terror and torment, in Jesus name! I do not submit to it!

I receive the love of God that casts out fear and I proclaim, “He that keepeth *insert your name* shall neither slumber nor sleep.” Daddy is not sleeping concerning my safety. He knew the dangers that would be in the world when He promised His peace to me. I declare that my mind is home to thoughts that are true, pure, just, lovely, virtuous, praiseworthy, honest and of good report. I think on these things, I stay my mind on the Lord. He is my light and salvation, I shall NOT fear; in Jesus’ mighty name, AMEN!

  1. I was wondering if you ever considered changing the page layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
