There is fear in my life, how do I get it out? How do I get out of fear and walk in faith? This is what we are about to unearth in this next segment.
The first thing to understand is that the Lord wants you to be free from fear! This is one of the reasons why He has adopted us in Christ, so that we would no longer be subject to bondage because of fear of death (Hebrews2:15). There are a few strategies to eradicating fear from your life. The first is to replace fear with faith, and the big question is, “HOW?” Well, there are a few ways to do this.
Hebrews11:1 says, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing, by the word of God.” Therefore, in order to activate faith, you must verbally and internally rehearse the scriptures, particularly the verses that speak of your security in Christ, the victory that He has gained over fear and whatever is coming against you. I would like to highlight Hebrews 11, which is rich in encouragement for those who want to persevere in faith. It speaks of the patriarchs of faith, who serve as our cheerleaders.
What has worked for me personally is writing down key verses and sticking it on my wall. I would meditate on them, confess them whether or not I felt afraid. I would like to share them with you.
“But without faith it is impossible to please God: For he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”
“Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.”
“Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee: He shall NEVER suffer the righteous to be moved.”
“Lord, You deliver my soul in peace, from the battle that is against me; for there are many with me”
“But ye beloved, building up yourself on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”
“There is NO FEAR in love, but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love Him, because He first loved us.”
These are but a few of the verses that I have stuck on my wall. I must confess that they have helped tremendously in combating and tearing away this fear from my life piece by piece. It may not all leave at one, the key is persistence. Keep walking it out!
Father, Your word brings light and liberty. I desire to be completely free from fear so that I can walk in Your fullness. I receive faith even as I hear, rehearse and meditate on Your word. Help me Lord, to be persistent until I see the exit of this evil in my life, in Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN!
